Oulu is a beautiful waterfront city with a lovely historic centre. The second main city of the region, Kaajani, sits at the scenic shore of Lake Oulu. Despite the rest of the region is scarcely populated on the rural areas, other small towns are worth a visit, such as Kemi, Tornio, and Ylivieska.

The Oulu Region is a dream come true for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. There are plenty of ways to explore its many wonders: hiking, fishing, camping, white-water rafting down rapids, or skiing at the popular resorts of Ruka, Vuokatti or Syöte.
